Even though a hernia is not a life threatening illness, it surely affects the quality of life to a significant extent. However. The count of such cases are extremely rare, and the people, in general, are receiving enormous benefits from the surgical meshes, both in term of recovery and by reducing the chances of a hernia recurrence.

In a nutshell, the surgical mesh should be strong, biocompatible, noninfectious, and non-immunogenic in general. The exact type of surgical mesh can vary depending upon the particular case and the type of laparoscopic hernia operation that has been carried out. Nowadays, most of the laparoscopic hernia operation is carried out along with the application of a surgical mesh with it.
